College Tech Prep Program - Fairfield Career Center
Set the scaffolds.
Interested in flipping houses? Then this is the program for you! Learn all aspects of building and maintaining commercial and residential structures in a hands-on setting. From the ground to the top of the scaffold, students actually build their own working module (structure) where they are able to practice the various areas of construction.
College preparatory coursework and the completion of Algebra I by the start of the program is also recommended.

Students will learn how to safely use hand and power tools, set up scaffolds, and read blueprints while learning and applying OSHA standards. Areas of study include:
- blueprint reading
- finish carpentry
- masonry-brick and block
- interior/exterior maintenance
- electrical installation, maintenance & repair
- HVAC maintenance & repair
- finish work
- OSHA safety standards
- plumbing maintenance & repair
- roofing maintenance & repair
