Educators Rising at Gahanna-Lincoln Satellite excels at state
Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools’ Teaching Professions Academy Satellite Program, located at Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools’ Clark Hall, sent 35 students to the recent Educators Rising State Conference at Ohio Dominican University with many students placing in the top five in competitions and advancing on to the national conference in Orlando, FL, this June. 

Students placing in the top five and advancing to the national competition include:
  • 1st place: Educators Rising Moment- Zoie Amey (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 1st place: Lesson Planning STEM- Chloe Callihan (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 2nd place: Lesson Planning ARTS- Brandon Karl (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 2nd place: Exploring Support Services Careers- Abigail Alatsis (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 3rd place: Impromptu Speaking- Alyson Adam (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 4th place:  Lesson Planning STEM- Sophia Easton (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 4th place: Exploring Administrative Careers- Makencie Wilson (Whitehall-Yearling);
  • 4th place: Impromptu Teaching- Abby Shupe (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • 5th place: Ethical Dilemma- Brandon Karl (Gahanna Lincoln), Dakota Seebauer (Gahanna Lincoln), Nana Yun (Gahanna Lincoln).
Students who took part in presenting at the state conference and who will present in Orlando include:
  • State and National Breakout Session- "Be the One" presented by Chloe Callihan (Gahanna Lincoln), Jayden Solomon (Gahanna Lincoln), Erin Moloney (Gahanna Lincoln), and Dylan Kankiewicz (Gahanna Lincoln);
  • State and National Breakout Session- "Emoting Empathy" presented by Sabrina Hall (Gahanna Lincoln), Alyson Adam (Gahanna Lincoln), Gabby Testa (Teays Valley), and Haley Cheadle (Hamilton Township).
Taylor Burns (Gahanna Lincoln), Abbie Gilzow (Gahanna Lincoln), Maia Talarico (Gahanna Lincoln), Gabby Testa (Teays Valley) earned a fifth-place finish in a state-only chapter display competition.

The Eastland-Fairfield/Gahanna Lincoln chapter of Educators Rising also had two students elected to state officer positions:
  • Erin Moloney (Gahanna Lincoln) Vice-President of Programs and Regional Representative;
  • Jayden Solomon (Gahanna Lincoln) Vice-President of Membership and Recruitment.
Educators Rising — powered by PDK International — is a career-technical student organization transforming how America develops aspiring teachers. Starting with high school students, the organization provides passionate young people with hands-on teaching experience, sustain their interest in the profession, and help them cultivate the skills they need to be successful educators.
