Eastland students earn honors at Ohio High School Landscape Olympics
OHLO Awards
Seven Landscape Design and Management students at Eastland Career Center recently competed in the Ohio High School Landscape Olympics (OHLO) at The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute. The students competed with over 250 students from 22 schools around the state.

The event is sponsored by Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association (ONLA) and tests students' skills through hands-on, competitive events designed by industry professionals. OHLO broadens the high school education experience and introduces students to the many opportunities offered by a career in the green industry.

Eastland Career Center students who placed in the top three in their respective events include:
  • JT Miller (Teays Valley High School) and Tyler Saunders (Liberty Union High School)  placed third in Landscape Maintenance Operations;
  • Brodie Routt (Bloom-Carroll High School) placed second in Skid Steer Operation;
  • Maya Benson (Groveport Madison High School)  placed second in Sales Presentation.
