Increasing the opportunities for students to advance into the automotive services workforce is one of the reasons Ricart Automotive, along with Ford Motor Company, donated two vehicles to the Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools’ Auto Technology programs located at Eastland Career Center in Groveport and at Fairfield Career Center in Carroll, respectively.
Ford’s Automotive Career Exploration program is a partnership program between Ford Motor Company, Ford and Lincoln dealerships, and secondary and post-secondary educational institutions. The intent of the program is to raise awareness and increase interest in career opportunities within the automotive industry, ultimately as a service technician.
Ricart Automotive, who has been a long time business partner with Eastland-Fairfield, continued its supportive educational efforts with the career-technical school district by donating the vehicles to further the hands-on training of students enrolling in the Auto Technology program.
“We have enjoyed an incredible partnership with Ricart over the years,” said Eastland-Fairfield Superintendent Bonnie Hopkins. “This partnership has helped us serve hundreds of students as Ricart has been an instrumental partner in providing both technical resources and practical experiences for our students. Many of our students have gained important work experience while in our auto programs at both Eastland and Fairfield Career Centers. Today, many of those students are employed with Ricart in various positions.”
Eastland-Fairfield officials, including the instructors of the Auto Technology programs, Daniel Trippier at Eastland Career Center and Tom Chance at Fairfield Career Center, respectively, were joined by representatives from Ford’s Customer Service Division and Ricart to accept the donations of the Ford vehicles. They included Keith Hallberg (Field Service Engineer, Cincinnati Region, Ford Customer Service Division), Rick Ricart (Vice President and Director, Sustainable Growth and Enterprise Opportunities, Ricart Automotive), Jared Ricart (Vice President and Director, Sustainable Growth and Enterprise Opportunities, Ricart Automotive), Katie Lichtfuss (Public Relations, Ricart Automotive), and Brad Sells (Director of Technician Career and Training, Ricart Automotive).
"We are honored to partner with Ford Motor Company to provide vehicles to the Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools' Automotive Technology Programs,” said Ricart Vice President Rick Ricart. “We are excited about the students who graduate from the programs, and their contributions they will undoubtedly make to the industry in Central Ohio and beyond."
