Students participate in a hands-on activity during Career Discovery Day while an Eastland-Fairfield student demonstrates a tool and speaks with middle school visitors gathered around a table.

Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools recently welcomed hundreds of middle school students to the Fairfield County Fairgrounds for Career Discovery Day, an interactive event designed to introduce students to future career opportunities through hands-on experiences and industry connections.

Over the course of two days, students explored a variety of career pathways offered at Eastland-Fairfield while engaging directly with current students, instructors, and business partners. From skilled trades and healthcare to technology, public safety and culinary arts, students had the opportunity to learn about different industries and experience activities related to real-world careers.

“Career Discovery Day gives students the opportunity to explore careers in a hands-on way while connecting what they are learning in school to future opportunities,” said Mindy Roggow, Outreach Coordinator for Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools. “It’s exciting to see students ask questions, try new things, and begin thinking about the options available to them.”

Career Discovery Day gave students a chance to experience the value of career-technical education while learning more about the programs and career pathways available through Eastland-Fairfield.

Eastland-Fairfield would like to thank the students, staff, and business partners who helped make this year’s event a success.
